The Perfect Security Set Up

Hi everyone,

I just recently ordered a new laptop and as I know nothing about computer/internet security I thought I should get some advice about how to protect it.

The laptop top is a Dell Vostro 1500 and it comes with Mcafee security and is running on Vista.

Can you please tell me what software I need to get to make sure my computer is as secure as possible?

If you just got this laptop what exactly would you get in order to make sure you are as safe as possible from all the internet/email dangers?

hmm, McAfee is decent enuf, but get a proper firewall like Zone Alarm, does your version of McAfree support spyware/adware ?..if not you have to get a standalone program for that
 
I would also try another firewall and stay alert to malicius script codes while browsing the internet(go to your ie and configure it to a higher security setting)
