Im about to order parts for my first do-it-yourself computer. I am fourtunate enough to have a hefty college fund which will be funding the project, so most of my components will be pretty nice (not the absolute top of the line).Im speanding roughly $300 on a mobo, $300 on a CPU and $400 on a video card, and $200 on RAM. I thought this would be a great way to jump start my computer education.
Anyways, which would be a better way for me to go, Intel or AMD? Ill be juggling alot of programs with my CIS major I have just started. Word, powerpoint, visual studios, explorer etc all come to mind. However I also want a system that is gonna blow my room mates XBOX 360 out of the water, to show him just how inferior consoles will always be to computers.
So what do the experts think?
