The sims 2 soo laggy?

Hey i just bought the sims 2 and it installed fine. I played it for like 3 hours then stopped and it ran fine all the way through.

But now i try to play it again it loads up fine but when im in the actual game it is so laggy i cant even play. When i rotate the cam or anything it lags and the walls turn black sometimes and the game just malfunctions? what is the problem?

My computer can run it look i did a test on system requiremnts

So whats the deal

because it would hog all your memory

system specs please including video card specs and driver/os versions

Sounds like your computer has some issues somewhere. Try turning down the specs

I turn the graphics down all the way and it still is ****ed

I have a dell XPS m1710.

My comp has been having problems with shutting down but my warranty is expired. So my comp is prolly just fried for some reason

sounds like classsic overheating
overheating probably cooked yoir video card

Or your HDD could work slow because it is too full, or it has a low RPM (laptops usually have about 4200 RPM while standard Desktop PCs have 7200).
Get the Sims Life Stories version which is designed for laptops. (unless you want all the expansion packs). It won't accept any expansion pack, but it has 2 more versions (Sims Pet Stories, Sims Cast Away Stories).
