The Sims 3 sucked. Is 4 any better?

Anyone played the Sims 4 enough to see if its any better than 3? 3 was awful compared to 1 & 2. The graphics sucked & it was seriously lacking stuff the sims 1 & 2 had that made things about the sims fun & easy to play. I grew up playing 1 & got the 'double deluxe' version of both 2 & 3.

The Sims 3 was just god awful. Granted it was trying in ways to be better than 2 but was lacking certain key things that made 1 & 2 so much better. EA had the right idea with 1. They had an edition that included pretty much all expansions that were out at the time. in 2 the double deluxe felt very limited in items for build mode but the game play was much better than 3 & the graphics were better than 3 even on a low end machine (300GB HDD & 4GB of RAM & pretty basic graphics card)

So is 4 better than 3 at all in any way? I have allot of good childhood memories with both Sim City & The Sims games. I would hate to see EA wreck such a good franchise further.

Sims 4 is pretty nice.. I never really got into 3, but I think this is better.

Watch some gameplay videos on YouTube, you'll be able to find out for yourself :)

You must have all the expansions because allot of people out there say it sucks as a base game. From what I hear they got rid of cars, there's no height difference in age & they got rid of toddlers. Also they say your limited to only 5 lots & the neighborhood is not 3D anymore, now its just a painting pasted on the screen.

The only thing I noticed that was new & interesting is the emotions they added for sims.

It sounds like you're looking for a lot of reasons to dislike the game.

In that case it'd probably be a better use of your time to play something that you enjoy more.

This isn't me looking for reasons to dislike it, I'm just going by what people are saying. Allot of people seem to hate it for various reasons.

I don't know if they are planning on making a Sims 5 at all but I'll have to wait and see how it does before I even think of getting it. With the Sims, I gotta be careful because the next one might be even worse if the developers continue on this path with the sims series.

To be honest I think you should just play it. Borrow it or find a demo version or something to have a go on. I can't tell you what it's like because I've never played it but you might surprise yourself. It can be hard going by what other people say especially when trying to decide if you like or want to play a game because everybody's experience will be different and what some people like in a game others might not.

Usually there are one or two good games in a franchise before the franchise gets a bit boring or the games start to lose the plot, especially with EA - take a look at the NFS and Burnout series! My friends were saying that Burnout Paradise was great but when I borrowed it I didn't like it because it lacked a lot of the things that made previous Burnout games great. Burnout 3 and Revenge (4) were great in my opinion but after Revenge the Burnout franchise 'crashed and burned' (pun intended ;)) if you ask me which is probably why they don't make new Burnout games any more, or at least not as regularly as they were doing.

I'm still thinking of chancing it. Could probably get it dirt cheap at the right place by now.

I agree with you on the burnout games. Played all of them myself. Paradise was alright but it did lack things it should have had. Other burnout games were better in ways.
