You need internet explorer enabled to run the Sims3.

Is it the launcher that doesn't work, or is it when you try to run the game itself?

Go to: C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin and run TS3.exe from it.

If it doesn't work, get back to me and I will do some research for you :) I haven't played the Sims 3 in a while, so I cant tinker on my pc.

thanxs AntimatterAsh I have tried that & it still a no go. but it allso starts origin askin to sign in can i ask is it like steam where you download of there server ? I just dont understand. thanxs

Right, go here and download the latest Microsoft DotNet Framework and see if this helps, as the launcher needs either DotNet3.5 or DotNet4.0 to run correctly, if these are configured incorrectly, you may need to uninstall DotNet in Control Panel, and then reinstall it from the URL I gave above.

If this still does not work, go to Start, Control Panel, Internet Options, Advanced, Restore Advanced Settings, Apply and OK, and then reboot.

Post back if it doesn't work.

Update DirectX. Uninstall and reinstall graphics drivers too.

What are the specs of the PC you are trying to run it on?

Use Origin to do a repair install. If that fails, delete the game of the drive, redownload it and install.

If that doesn't work:

Put a copy of all the dlls in the root folder. Run as administrator.

It sounds to me like you have a 64bit routine calling a 32bit dll. Make em available everywhere ;)

my setup
AMD Bulldozer FX-4 Quad Core 4170 4.20GHz Quad Core CPU

Gigabyte 78LMT-USB3 AMD 760G (Socket AM3+) DDR3 Motherboard

4GB DDR3 1333MHz Single Channel

GeForce GTS450 grapics card 1GB mem

880w PSU

thanxs antimatterash. have done that with Internet Options still will not launch have done the direct x & set to run as admin..okedokey when it was installing it would auto detect between 64 & 32 bit wouldnt it

this is what it says

If it is File Not Found, could it be affected by which drive it is on? So if it is on a D: drive it may be programmed to fetch from a C: by default?

yeah have done that antimatterash thanxs for that anyway going to try 1 more thing I think its something on my harddrive so I will get back to you again thanxs antmatterash
