Does anyone know the truth about that merge? i'll be happy to share thoughts with anyone here.well it's true they bought ATI for 5.4 billion USD but what is the purpose?
here are some of my thoughts about this:
#scenario 1:
since AMD is big big fan of on-die stuff they could( and they will from what i see in their 4X4 vision -ed ) so here is a simple illustration
1 is for the memory sticks
2 is for the gpus ( multi gpu )
3 is for the cpus( multicore )
so ATI will do the PhyX and the Graphics Cont.( should contains some basic gpu functionality to serve as intergrated card )
nvidia will do the gpu ( not on die ) simply imagine the performance .
#scenario 2:
on mobiles and PDAs imagine an"AMDscale" processor with integrated graphics
(where are mmorpg fans? -ed)
so i will keep on imaging until we see what really happens
join me in the future telling business!
post ur own scenarios.
