theory and question about free operating systems?

Would you say free OS might contain spyware, malware, viruses, ect in the system as part of the free OS package.. ? Since they are free in the first place and maybe thats why they are offered free.Thats just my theory speaking. Do you think so?

The open source market is a 500 million dollar a year market. It is not like they aren't making money.
