There is an option in Microsoft update...should I get it?

Yeah if it really is for updating the OS (which I have never heard of something this large being updated) I would wait a while.

not an upgrade, update if you have dual care CPU to go from a 32 Bit structure, to a fully utilized 64 Bit. Thing is I don't know weather I should or not...

I never said anything about an upgrade, and I know about 32 Bit and 64 Bit CPUs I have just never heard of there being a MS update that would change your OS from 32 to 64.

yup, and I don't know if I should get it...is it safe? The update has been out for over 3/4 of a year now...I think they would have gotten all the bugs out by now, bu the again...The question remains, should I get it or not?

ADE, you can not simply get an update to move from 32-Bit to 64-Bit. Even if there was, they dont make a 64-Bit version of XP Home, only XP Pro.

You are reading the update wrong.

Thank you thats what I thought.

k, maybe I did read it wrong...here's what it says,

The Files and Settings Transfer Wizard included in Windows XP SP2 does not support gathering data from a 32-bit Windows XP environment and applying it in a 64-bit Windows XP environment. Install this update to enable support for collecting data in a 32-bit Windows XP environment and applying it to a 64-bit Windows XP environment. After you install this item, you may have to restart your computer.
