Click to expand... you took the big chunk of metal off or just the fan? if you took the metal off it would be good to reapply TIM (thermal interface material) or grease. if you dont have any it doesnt matter unless its hardened.

epidemik Active Member Nov 4, 2007 #4 Thermal paste doesnt cost much...at least the stuff i used (uh oh) It was 1.50$ at local computer shop. Im sure it doesnt hurt to re-apply as long as theres not too much on there.
