Thermal grease

I've just put together my first computer, there was no thermal grease provided with the CPU (AMD Athlon64 3000) or the Mobo, however there was a grey soft (greasy) covering on the base of the heatsink, is this enough, or should I consider buying some thermal grease, and putting more on? The stuff which was already on the heatsink when touched came off on my finger so I'm pretty sure it's the right stuff, just want to make sure this is enough.

Cheers.

The Thermal grease on the hsf is quite enough. Most builders like to take it off and use the Arctic silver but stock should work just fine.

that stuff is more then adequate, plus it takes away the almost black art of getting the right amount of thermal compound on the cpu
