Thermal paste on the CPU pins

thermal paste probably won't hurt the pins conductivity unless it's excessive. if you have the cpu removed you can spray some alcohol on it, let it soak in and then try compressed air to blow it off. The pins are very, very fragile, don't use a brush or anything.

Well for starters don't stick it in your CPU socket. You can probably gently clean it all off using rubbing alcohol. As long as you let the CPU dry completely before reinstalling it, you shouldn't have any trouble.

Is it just on the corner or something? Just try and remove it with rubbing alcohol.

It is actually between two pins, and a very very small amount, unfortunately my comp won't boot up and a believe this is the reason why it won't boot up, could I have ruined my CPU? My computer does turn on but then restarts after forty seconds then stays on but I get nothing on my monitor.

Wont know till you clean it and try again. Get some alcohol and a soft tooth brush and clean it off and let it dry. If any is on the CPU socket, clean it off too. The compound is just for filling the gaps between the heatsink and CPU. You use a very small amount, dont layer it between the two. Just the amount of a small grain of rice.

I have done all of that, the processor is spotless and there was no paste in the socket, but my comp still won't post, my my CPU was toast, would my board not beeb in error?

Yeah I'd did, I have removed the mater cooler, it was an all in one so was no leaks, but am still getting nothing.
