Thermal Paste

Hello I am putting a used Pentium 4 socket 775 CPU in a computer and it already has had thermal paste on it so it is like all grey at the top from the thermal paste. Is it ok to add another layer of thermal paste on top of the old thermal paste layer?

No. Clean the old stuff off first. You can use isopropyl alcohol and a lint free cloth to clean it.
