Think Pad Change over?

Hello. I'm new to the forum and I am hoping you can answer a question for me. I just recently purchased a Think Pad r31 and I want to do a format to eradicate all of the IBM crap and reinstall Windows XP as my operating system. Can this be done without any problems? I just want a simple system that will let windows handle all of my software installation and Wireless network setup.

What windows installation are you using? If your using the one that came with the IBM, then its going to have all that "crap" installed on there again when you reformat. Only way to get rid of that is to use a retail version of Windows.

But to answer your question, yes you can reformat.
