I'm sure this will be moved, but my foremost selection on prebuilt machines is most usually www.ABSPC.com. Check out their three lines of Notebooks. The Mayhem series is very good for gaming as well as standard operation, all as a laptop. As for the P4 being slow, I disagree. Intel will continue to bring quality chips to the table.

i c, but sometimes ... my AMD surpasses my friends 3.0 :| and he has better ram , video card is better also ........ something wrong?? my AMD isnt even O'Ced

I'm an AMD guy myself, but I wouldn't call the intel p4 slow, so really when it comes down to building a new system, I look at the price.

It could be a number of variables, I would have to look at both specs in complete detail to see why yours is faster than his. Rest assured the top end Pentium chipset is just as good as the AMD ones. AMD isn't king btw, they've been the underdog for quite sometime, markets will change, and constantly juxtapose.

i thought p4 is faster nowdays, i thought amd was faster in the past. have you consider alienware notebooks lol they run as high as five grand lol.

The compaq r3000z I think * or something similiarly named * has and AMD 64. I wouldn't overlook the Centrino's, especially the centrino dothans though.

If the decision is between the P4C and the AthlonXP, naturally the P4C will come ahead and cleanly so. If it's between the P4C and an Athlon64, the A64 will, in most cases, be the winner performance-wise but the P4C might be a more cost effective solution.

Have a look at Falcon's ... you can rig those things up to over $10K

:)
