Thinking about switching

I currently have an android phone and have been thinking about switching to either an Iphone or a Windows phone. Anyone here switch from Android? Do you like it or regret doing it? I'm just looking to change things up, Android is getting kind of boring.

Do NOT get an iPhone. I have had an iPhone 6S for about 2 years now and it has been a love/hate relationship with it. I love it because I have used Apple products a lot, I am used to the interface of iOS and I have a lot of music on iTunes so getting everything synced was easy.

I hate it because my phone has been bricked and needed factory-reset 4 times because of an iOS update gone bad. Over time I have accumulated about 20 hours on the phone with AppleCare tech support because of other issues. I have also had iTunes updates erase all my music instead of sync it before, and just recently when I tried syncing it, it put 4 duplicates of every song on my phone.

Plus, unless you shell out $50 on a heavy duty lightning cable, the Apple lightning cables are cheaply made and fray like a Christmas tree at the connectors within a month or 2 of average use.

I am planning to finally hop off the Apple bandwagon, switch to Android and get a Samsung when my contract is up in a few months. Plus, Android supports M4A so I can drag-n-drop & play all my iTunes music on it!
 
I used to have an iPhone and can say it's not a hard switch if you can let go of the customization aspect.

Apple keeps bringing more features to iOS with every update.

That being said, I enjoy my LG G4 (post bootloop errors), and I'm looking at Galaxy S8's now

Very useful information, thanks. My last phone was the HTC M8, I currently have the HTC M10 which has been just as solid with no issues whatsoever. I've had bad experiences with LG products in general, so won't be getting a phone by them. The last Samsung I had was the S5, I upgraded from the S3 which was an awesome phone at the time to the S5 which was a pile of garbage. Even my wife's S7 is hit and miss, but the S8 looks like they got things right this time around, I just don't like the cartoon interface of the Samsung OS. I've also been leaning in the direction of a Windows phone but they don't seem very popular at all, maybe for a good reason?
 
Windows phones are dead. You'd regret it almost immediately. Android if you want customization and general user friendliness but iPhone if you want stability and predictability.
 
Always used the samsung phones. androids work well. Do not like the S7 Edge.
Too thin. Just kind of pops out of my hand often enough.

Yeah my current phone is thin and very slippery, can't really use it without the case especially at work. The case has a few scars that would of been on my phone so I'm glad I spent the ten dollars on it. I was leaning towards a Windows phone for I guess syncing purposes but that seems like a moot point now a days as my phone already does that with email and all. But that S8+ looks very nice, but the finger print scanner is at the back which I would prefer to be on the home button instead. I went and checked out the Iphone 7 at a kiosk the other day and my phone is the exact same but with better resolution so I will hang on to this one for now until my contract is up.
