Thinking of building a gaming computer

I have a AMD Phantom 955 Quad core and I'm thinking of building an AMD FX 8350 but would it be worth it? I took a look at the specks and I'm not sure if the building it is worth doing. I'm building the cheapest computer I can for very old games like Doom but I though I might just build a husky computer for the new games? I have an ATI Radeon 5750 1 Gig on the AMD 955 and it plays Rage really good. Or maybe an i5. The only differents is I would spend $200 for a video card and I know I can get a good card for that. I've been thinking about this for some time and would like your input.

If you're only playing old games, I don't see why your 955 and 5750 aren't good enough. Maybe upgrade to a slightly more powerful video card (6850 or 7770 perhaps) and then try. If you're playing old games, you'd be wasting your money by buying an i5 or an 8350 and 7850 (which is the best card you can get for $200).
