Thinking of Get a New Computer

Hello Everyone, I'm new to this forum :)

I have taken my computer to a computer repair man and have decided if it's too expensive to fix. I will buy a new one. I have to wait until I get a price first.

I'm not interested in building a computer from scratch. I might need help in buying the right computer that is right for me. I want something that is the best on the market and I will NOT be using it for gaming. I will be for every day use. It will have to be fast and have lots of storage.

I am thinking either Dell or HP. I have been using my old Dell for over 5 years an has served me well. My dad has a Hp and his one seems very good as well. I'm looking for something to last me at lease 5 years

This is the computer I'm thinking of getting: http://store.hp.com/UKStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=ECC_BUNDLE_4579861&opt=&sel=PCDT

Is the memory, processor, storage any good? Is there anything I should be looking out for. Thanks ;)

First of all, I'm not saying you should try fixing your old one but what is wrong with it. There are some people that will rape you on computer repairs. I repair computers in my spare time and can tell you about how much it would cost if I did the repairs.

But as far as buying new. You can't go wrong if you won't be gaming. Any decent I5 cpu and at least 6gb of memory will suffice. A 2 TB hard drive would be plenty depending on what you need the storage for.

Hello John :). Thanks for the reply. I had my computer fixed for £20. He said it was a hardware issue. I didn't get an understandable answer to what the problem was. I drop the computer on the side once and believe it was that. Maybe it was only a 2 minute job but I will never really know.

I'm scared when it comes to opening up computers, I don't know what I might mess up. I did try though but the computer case was really hard to open. I did tell him not to fix my computer until I know what the price and problem is. As it was £20, I gave him the go ahead.

I won't be buying a computer quite yet. It seems the Dell still has a long way to go :)

When it comes to computers, how do I know who is a good computer repair guy and does it for cheap?

I'm so clueless about this lol
