Thinking of getting new cooler, concern

I'd rather not have this thread turn into "Buy this instead", so therefore I'm considering getting the Corsair H50.

For some reason my motherboard revs the CPU fan up really high when turning on and then tones it down very quietly, rather quickly. I have read that this could be normal, I have tried messing with all the fan settings possible in the BIOS, but it still does it.

My issue/concern is, the new cooler has both a fan and a water pump. I'm nervous that the sudden high revs would carry over and possible damage the water pump. Thank you.

EDIT: Also, I noticed my CPU fan has a 4 pin connector, and 3 pin connectors for other system fans.

This video shows the pump using a 3 pin connector at 1:52, which I believe plugs into the CPU Fan? Then shows at 2:30 the 120 mm fan using a 4 pin connector. It seems my motherboard has the reverse or does it not matter?

I have since changed my mind since the first post, the H60 looks better and only has one 3 pin connector for everything.

My final question is, if I disable "Smart Fan" through my BIOS, would that deliver the 12v needed for the unit to all my fan connectors?

I would say the h50/i or h60 if you want a heatsink then an nzxt havik 140, with regards to the fans most boards have 4 pin connectors but there will be a tab about 3/4 the way down so you can plug in a 3 pin connector if you need to.

Normal cpu fans run at like 2-3k rpm dependant on size. So i doubt them suddenly spinning up would damage the pump as im pretty sure it will be built/designed taking that into consideration.

Edit. Most cpu fans spin way up when just turned on, and then quieten down i think its because the system is just turned on and its on max revs, then it lowers it because the temps good as it boots.
