Thinking of Upgrading to......

I built a computer last year and I've caught the building bug and now I want to upgrade my computer i built last year, i was thinking:

GPU: 2x GeForce GTX 970 4096MB GDDR5

SSD:+ Crucial MX100 512GB SATA
HDD:+ 2TB Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm SATA3 64Mb HardDrive

Optical driveioneer BDC-207D Blu-Ray-ROM SATA DVD Writer (change)
Card reader: 7 in 1 cheap thing

Hmm, as I see it, you will just be upgrading mostly for the fun of it then. The rig you have seems capable enough.

But you could get a modular Corsair 650 - 750 W psu, and be fine by that as a 1000W are overkill. And swap the videocard for something more powerful. A Radeon R9 280X for example.

But that's just my opinion.

intead of two 970s, go for one 980. SLI doesnt scale well and the 980 will do practically anything

I'd say he should get a single GTX 970, an additional 8GB of RAM, larger SSD, and possibly move to an Intel i7 setup. If you are after pure performance, an i7 is definitely the way to go.

The only component I can see that is worth upgrading is your cpu, you don`t mention your cooler, what type of cooler do you have ?
