Thinkpad Rebuild

Wondering if it would be hard to rebuild an old 300 or 600 series Thinkpad to current day standards [2GB+ RAM/P4+ Processor/internal 2.0 USB/internal DVD RW/ etc. etc]? I ask because I like these styles better than the new ones :)

Simple answer: Probably not.

Though it may depend on how old old is.

My very old 350 was built in September of 1994, and it still works (its just that I have no use for it so it sits in the closet) This notebook only has a floppy drive for removable storage, and there is no provision for CD drives. However, keep it around: these notebooks are sturdy!

Im not worried about compatibility with the old hardware because I would pull everything. Im worried about making it all fit though, like the ports and drives.

Thats what I mean. You'd probably have to drill holes for the ports.
