Hi, I bought a "new" pc hp pavillion m7555 to a friend between Christmas and New Year:

Click on funktioner and expand, it is in English.

And before the pc has left the shop they introduce a whole new pc hp pavillion m7635 with an entirely new gaming-technology to the same price!

The pc is first of all meant to play games on, not action-games like "doom" or "diablo" or what ever those games are called now, but adventure games, where you shall find things, but these kind of games can also be very demanding for the pc.

I had bought a game, Cinderella to my friend, a cute little game, where you can make 5 castles and rooms in them, and shall find 5 crystals in the rooms, but her pc from 2004 couldn't run it, because it demands a video graphic card, which can run 3D, and her couldn't. Luckily the one we've bought can.

But the new hp has an ATI RADEON express 200 chip for advanced 3D-gaming, where my "old" just has a conventional Intel 945P express chip!

The new one has a DVI-port, a digital videoport, and the "old" hasn't. And they call it a mediacenter. I bought a LCD monitor with digital input together with it.

Are we now going to experience again in a little while, that when we buy games for our new pc, we've just invested in, it can't play them??

yes, and that is technology for you. just purchase a new video card next time instead of a whole new system

There is nothing new about either the Radeon Express 200 or the Intel 945P. Both chipsets have been around for a while. I suspect both were around at the time you purchased it. If not the models, I know the chipsets were.

I wouldn't be too upset. It's not like either chipset had wonderful GPUs. As for the DVI, I have seen these PCI-Express to DVI addaptors(not GPUs) I don't know exactly what chipsets they are compatable with, but it might be worth looking into. They go for about $20 USD if I recall correctly...

The "old" one, I bought has an intel 945P express graphics processor, while the new one has ATI RADEON express 200. The latter is much more suited for 3D-gaming, and so are NVIDIA GeForce 6150LE, am I correct?

Then why the heck do they put this outdated graphics processor in the pc?

Can you upgrade it?

yes to build your own system is great! i hate how dell can spam the TV with all the BS like there the best out there. ive seen way to many dells with built in video take a crap with in 6 months. built in video is the worst thing to ever happen to the PC world. to buy s dell that cost 700$ you could build your own for 700$ and kill the dell 100% i see them dells that cost 3500$ and makes me laugh hard. i could build a SLI system with 2 8800 video cards and the best chip for that. and still be able to fill the gas tank to my SUV with the cash left over.

you are talking chipsets, they are both good, they are what connect the motherboard to ram, cpu, graphics

check that link out, compare the radeon 7300 with a 8800 gtx

my brother got an hp with a shitty 7300 LE (le meaning low end) and replaced it with a 7900 gtx, and know he can run all games on full

you also failed to notice the computer you bought comes with a 7300 le

BUY A FRIEKING CARD AND PUT IT IN UR COMP YOU WILL BE SO HAPPY.

AND you actually made the better buy, getting a better processor and ram, all you need now is a new graphics card. tell us how much you can spend on one, well help u out and walk you through the install

get something like this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814127226

and before you guys tell me the 1650xt sux, (the 1650 pro has only 4 pixel pipes (12 processors) 8 pixel pipes (24 processors)
and a 1350 memory clock (DDR3)

im sure it would beat the 7600 gt

compare the 1900 xt and the 7900 gt for example, they have same mem bandwidth and core clock.
the 1900 xt comes out on top bc of the 16pipes/48procs while the 7900 gt has 24 pipes/procs

You mean, I should buy a whole new graphic card? I think the card in it is a 7500LE, not a 7300LE. Allright I could use 75-150$ (I think they are a bit more expensive here in Denmark, where I live)

I thought the chipsets ATI Radeon express 200 and nForce4 Ultra were better for gaming than Intel 945P express, but maybe the difference are not so great.
