alrite im getting a amd x2 3800 cpu, 2gb ram, dfi mobo, n a geforce 7800 gt.....wut u think the power supply should be?how many watts?
 
you have to look at amperage as well, but I think you could go with about 450, but I'd say get more if you can cause it never hurts to have more

You can't judge a power supply solely on the wattage. As suprasteve said, you need to look at the amperage on the +12V line as well.
