This one? Or This one?

These deals seem almost too good but I'm considering getting a desktop and well....

I'll be using it for gaming only (might get a Virtual Computer thing to run XP so I can play the older ones) and for an idea of the range of games I shall be playing: Sims2, Bioshock, Diablo 2, Baldur's Gate 2, Starcraft, Half Life, Portal etcetera.

I've narrowed my choices down to these two: (which someone in a previous thread linkied for me)

Less expensive: http://www.mwave.com/mwave/viewspec_v2.asp?scriteria=4706689

Slightly more expensive: http://www.mwave.com/mwave/viewspec_v2.asp?scriteria=SA02090

I would have bought the cheapest one linked but they are out of stock and there is no date indicating when, if ever, they will be back in. :(

Anyhow, which one is has the best bang for its buck.

Sad story on both as far as anything close to a gaming build. You'll be spending even more later if you go with either one since both use onboard video and sound. Plus I didn't think mwave shipped to Canada? There's a TigerDirect.CA for Canadien orders.

The second link shows an mwave house built over the Acer prebuild on the first. That sees the faster of the two Phenom models and 4gb of memory compared to the Acer's 3gb. Both see a 500gb sata drive with a preinstalled OS.

Other then that you would still be looking at buying a separate card for video especially and possibly going for an expansion card for better sound quality in gaming and multimedia. At least the mwave case is a bit more flexible for upgrading while the Acer leaves you with a 250w power supply and no head room.

What he said! ^ lol!

Damn. Ah, well, I asked before buying so I don't make mistakes.

I looked on their website and it says they can ship anywhere....

I'll go inhabit TigerDirect and see what I can come up with ^^

Thanks fer the help!

The main problem now being seen with a good number of prebuilds is the lack of a good supply you need for seeing anything but onboard. This is the new energy saver type of systems coming out.

For a strictly gaming system and prebuilt at the same time you will end spending quite a bit more at places like Alienware for custom ordering. You would be better off actually planning out a custom case of your own where you simply shop for an adequate supply as well as good make and model board, memory, video and likely sound cards, etc. in order to be satisfied with the end results.
