Those beep codes

Does a single beep on start mean everything is fine, or their is a problem with the memory? I looked it up and it says there is an error with memory something, but the pc recognizes the ram just fine. I switched them around and for the first couple boots I got no beep, but then it came back.

Beep codes depend on BIOS type, but normally....
The computer power-on self-test (POST) tests the computer to make sure it meets the necessary system requirements and that all hardware is working properly before starting the remainder of the boot process. If the computer passes the POST the computer will have a single beep (with some computer BIOS manufacturers it may beep twice) as the computer starts and the computer will continue to start normally.

yeah I read that, but I also read on some BIOS's a single beep is a memory issue...

if it helps I have a asus p5q deluxe board, I looked in my manual to no avail as well as googled a bit.

Is your computer POSTing? If it one quick short beep and it POSTs, then it's fine and that is normal.
