Thoughts on PC Build?

since the i7's threading won't be used for a good long while, i'd say go down to a 2500k, then go up to like a corsair h60 or antec kuhler water cooling system. also that psu is overkill as crap, and that gpu is no different than this from the listed specs other than this is 90 less and has a lifetime warranty, prob needs registration though.

and are prob some good combos with the cpu and that or similar mobo or gpu or psu.

Go with the i7 I dont understand making a downgrade in CPU's if in the future your just gonna go that route anyways. And down grading to a i5 wont allow him to upgrade anything else in his build that makes as big of impact that a proccessor does.

By the time that the i7 is a benefit Over their they will be so dated it would be time to upgrade anyways, and with that 100 he could get water cooling for both the c and gpu, but with these there realli is no diff, but also he could put it to getting an ivy bridge i5 in a few mOnths so it would be more like a 1-150 buck upgrade instead of like 350 for the new i7

Yes and by that logic everything on that PC will be outdated, and the i5 more so than the i7. What I am saying is If you are going to build a high-end pc right now dont skimp on anything that is going to hurt your present build out in an attempt to save money that he doesnt need save since he is already under budget.

Now I'd agree with the i5 over the i7 if he was so obviously skimping on one area in order to get the i7 but he isnt. Or if it would help him stay underbudget and get a better overall performance.

Both the i7 and i5 should give superb performance. It's ultimately down to whether or not you want to spend the extra.

Yeah I was thinking of SLI 580's in the future, but this build would not be put together til the end of the year.

With that said, I will await new releases/price decreases and see what's the best route from there.

Thanks for your input!
