Thoughts on the EVGA super record 2... Future proof??

Not very future proof since intel is switching sockets soon enough. Its a nice board though, buddy of mine got one at launch(5-6 weeks ago iirc), and two e5620's. Only bad part about the board is above 200bclk you need water on the chipset, and above 240bclk you need ln2 on the chipset, so your gonna have a hard time overclocking low multi processors.

It is a beast though, he has his folding and with 16 threads bigadv work units get quite a good amount of points, even at stock speeds.

i don't understand why they didn't run architecture to use all the 1366 chips
 
I wish they would make a dual CPU board for socket 1156 thats cheaper.

Not gonna happen, you need dual QPI links to do a dual socket board. Thats why the SR-2 requires 55xx or 56xx xeons.

Its how the 5620 chipset is designed, dual QPI links are required as the 5620 is a server chipset.
