Time ,date email not working please help!

I booted up recently into my OS which is XP only to find the time and date was reporting Oct 2007 at 2 am in the morning lol.....

I had a windows security alert saying that my Anti-Virus might be out of date because of it so Ive just manually put in the right time,date etc and updated my virus...

Everything seems to be ok atm but my emails not working and it says -ERR Element not found.

1)Why was my time ,date etc reporting the above?
2)Why the Security alert?
3)What's wrong with email?
4)What can I do to correct probs?

Try the easiest route first, replace the motherboard battery. The symptoms are a battery coming to the end of its life.
