Time for Another Question

It must be about 30-40 minutes since I was lost, so here I go again....

This time I want to transfer about 120gb of pics and music from my old computer to my new one. The old HD has the 40 pin connector and I have a pci adapter. I tried just installing the assembly into the new comp but I couldn't get drivers for Vista (for the pci adapter). So it just sat there like a paper weight.

Method two was using a Rocketfish. This thing lets you install a HD into it, then you use a wire and just plug into a USB port. The comp supposed to see it as a mass storage device and you're off and running.

That part worked out just fine EXCEPT I can't find the "mass storage device" in the computer. What I mean to say is the computer "sees" it, it's in the device manager, anything that I click on says that it's ready to use and all, but I just can't locate the thing to click on it to open it up and start the transfer. If I open up "My Computer" it's not in there.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

you should be able to simply plug in the HDD into your computer (internally with an IDE cable)
as far as the usb device, go to my computer and look under "Devices with Removable Storage" if it finds it at all it will be there
I don't know about the rocketfish thing, I always used a basic external enclosure without a problem.
