How do I set my computer to keep it from timing out so quick when I'm on the internet? I am a "Low Tech" Red-Neck! Sorry if this question has already been asked and answered a million times and I didn't find and read it on the forum. I have windows XP. Thanks, Tim.

Hmm..Timing out. Do you have a slow internet connection? Dial-Up? Or High speed DSL?

Does it time out on every site you go to?

Hehe. Red-neck. Its always good to have a fellow Georgian around the forum :D

I have DSL. It doesn't always time out. I was thinking I had seen a setting somewhere to take care of this. Just don't tell my wife I've been thinking again. Tim.

Lol! Well in particular, Time out errors can be indicative of poor ISP service. I live in the middle of the city And the only high speed Internet service around is Comcast, But boy I'll tell ya, They Friggin suck! It's like they know I can't switch so They give me the worst type of service ever. They even shut us off and sent us to a fraud investigator!

Back on topic, My connection is plagued with all types of latency, thus resulting in many timeout errors. :(

In firefox I'm sure we can find that setting in About:config (type this in the URL)
