erm, I've heard about an April 22 price drop on intel conroes and my dad gave me the thumbs up on a $1200 build (incl 19" widescreen, other peripherals)...but then...i came across an article that stated that in q3 of this year, the quad xeons would significantly come down in price. Now I'm building based on Praetor's price guide (thanks for that by the way =3), using the $1000 configuration with the 8800, 2gb, etc.

My final question being: I want to be able to run Crysis at a stable ~35fps (i know i know, many factors in determining that...), but basically, should i wait till q3 for a quad xeon or is core 2 duo sufficient?


..And with the price drops, I think the $1100 build comes down to $1000.



EDIT: can someone tell me the advantages of quad core again? I don't think I would need it, but it looks oh so tempting. Googling came up with no definitive answers.

hmm...I guess i'll wait 2 more months then.
EDIT: Froboy, are you entirely sure about that? I googled and found a rumor page.
