Yo hey im looking around for an upgrade of my pc.. basicly i need nearly everything new... but i know the least of motherboards so help me :P

A friend adviced nforce 4

i want amd 64 bit (thats the future i guess)

i think 3+ pci slots (NiC and sound are the only things i can think of (those may be onboard))

pci-e for a video card (dunno if pci-e is the new standard for video cards instead of agp)

dunno how much RAM the future will need but for now 512 MB would suffice i guess (would be nice to be able to upgrade) (wich type of RAM is good these days?)

i saw the asus a8n but dunno if thats any good..

so any tips hints suggestions and donations are good :D

Well...

(wich type of RAM is good these days?)
DDR & DDRII are both good!
i saw the asus a8n but dunno if thats any good..
Which one are you interested in? -
A8N-SLI Deluxe
A8N-SLI
A8N-E
A8N-SLI Premium
A8N5X
A8N32-SLI Deluxe
A8N-VM CSM
A8N-VM
pci-e for a video card (dunno if pci-e is the new standard for video cards instead of agp)
Go for the PCI-E x16 if you can. It may depend on which motherboard you decide to buy. (Not every motherboard supports PCI-E!)

i want amd 64 bit
Yep, AMD Athlon64 is pretty good! (Socket 939)

that a8n-e looks good... any other brands that have (good) alternatives to this one or should i stick to asus?

damn those amd athlon 64's are expencive.. do they really have the performance the claim to have? i see 2800+ that runs on 1.8 GHz how the hell do they get a GHz extra performance out of it O_O.. that one costs 100 euro
