Tj Max

A laptop I am trying to fix has a Tj Max of around 85 degrees which is what it runs at (unhealthy i know) but most of the other machines like my laptop have a Tj Max of around 100, so is there any way to increase it? Or is it unsafe.

How are you reading your Tjmax? I suspect you are actually seeing Tcase but it's hard to say.

You can't increase the Tjmax of a given processor, it is what it is.

I know that CoreTemp used to be a really popular temperature monitoring program, Back when Conroe came out.

I don't know how popular it is now, but I know that displays a Tjmax value.

RealTemp maybe do this too, I can't remember.
