Im thinking about buy a BFG Nvidia 7900 GTX OC 512mb for around 290$. But i read around on forums and people were saying that the 7900 GTX cards tend to screw up alot, like freeze the computer. And i dont know the return policy on those cards. Plus im buying it off some person (not a store). So i just need some reasurance :) and does anybody know the dimensions to this card?

Don't buy it man, i posted a warning a few days ago, there was a huge problem with them and they have recalled alot of them, i just sent mine out for RMA.

The gtx problems are fixed. There was a problem but I am pretty sure that that was just when they first came out.

Instead of a GTX, i would suggest a GTO tough (its basicly and underclocked GTX, so if you overclock it, you would have the same results :) )

The memory is different (GTO uses Samsung with 1.4ns spec timings and lower voltage vs the GTXs 1.1ns Infineon). Unfortunately, the memory on the GTO doesn't OC so well.

All the same, the GTO's a great card even at stock speeds. $290 is good value for a 7900GTX, but if it's a card with no warranty, the GTO might be the safer option.

Take a look at BFGs warranty page. They offer a lifetime warranty, but you will require a receipt.

lifetime warrenty doesnt need a reciept does it? and it does have lifetime warrenty. Im not getting the orginal box with it either, just the card and the additional stuff that comes with it. I was also thinking i might just bum money off my dad and wait for the 8800xt (dont quite remember name) card to come out in a couple weeks, but i m not 100% sure if i wanna spend that kinda money, and i only have 5 days to buy that 7900 GTX OC card. to add onto that i gotta spend more on a psu.
