To Date Best Monitor For Gaming

Hello all, sorry if there are other posts on this subject. I am new to this site and still a noobie to forums. In a nutshell I have no more than $300 CDN to spend on a monitor, that I will be gamming on most of the time. My preference in a monitor is the BIGGER:good: the better, within reason and also something that has a good reaction time and a good resolution rate (if that is what is best for me?) Any feedback will be awesome, I'm pretty new to the computer scene, so please lamens terms..:D

Will it be mostly online gaming?

The reason I ask is, with any latency time with any modern monitor, the latency between server and client in online gaming will completely dwarf the latency of the monitor. The only factor that you would want to be wary of is dependability. I personally have an HP 21.5 in monitor (~200USD) and I love it. Very vivid colors and still works.

I would buy from HP, Panasonic, Viewsonic, Samsung and ASUS if I were in the market for a new one.
