To Opteron or Athlon64

I'm currently in dilemma of choosing between a CPU of either an AMD Opteron 146 or a Athlon64 3200. Theres a huge price difference but do you think it's worth it? I mean, i'm going to be playing games and working with 3D modelling and rendering with 3dMAX and Maya. Am i better off with the more pricy 3200 or with the 146? (I don't plan to overclock either, because my current pc is screwed up coz of clocking)

Huge price difference? Really? Maybe you were looking at s940. Opterons now come in s939 and they are cheaper. You wont see any difference for your use, because opterons use just high quality San Diego cores renamed.
