To Uninstall and Reinstall Zone Alarm

Hi,

I was trying to uninstall ZoneAlarm and it got struck and at the moment, it is there in my computer and would not allow me to reinstall it. So, can someone tell me a simple step by which i can remove it from my computer?

*Start

*Control Panel

*Add/Remove Programs

Use the remove function in the list.

Hope that's what you were after.

The first time i tried to uninstall it got struck in the middle. I did try uninstalling it once again from the Add/Remove options but couldn't because it wasn't there in the list. Having had presumed that it might have got uninstalled, i tried reinstalling it again and it wouldn't let me do so; a reason why i felt that traces of Zonealarm are still struck somewhere or the other.

OK, my knowledge is limited but I had a play around for the hell of it... I turned off my Zonealarm and downloaded another copy. I went through the setup and it recognised existing ZA files. It told me I needed to remove the old version before I loaded the new version. It then went through and uninstalled the old version, loaded setup and I used my current product key to activate ZA Pro. It should be a straight forward process and unfortunately I can't offer any advice beyond this... When it comes to computers, my forte is breaking stuff.
 
Hi,

What I probably need is an application that can detect and remove all improperly uninstalled files. I tried searching for some software but the problem is either they don’t detect Zonelab products in my computer or else I haven’t found one that detects. Furthermore, have been reading much about retrieving our previous windows registry settings but didn’t know how to activate and use it. Can someone help me on this?
