I have many programs on my XP desktop. When I go to Start>All Programs,I have three columns of programs listed with no more room for more.Is there a way to expand this so I can see all my programs?Did a search but didn't find an answer.

You could try grouping the programs. Like have a folder for security, a folder dor multimedia etc

That is exactly what I do... I have the standard Accessories folder and I also created an "AUDIO and VIDEO" folder, a "Security" folder, a "Programming" folder, an "IO Devices" folder and a "Home Office" folder.... if I just threw everything in the All Programs folder, It would be about two columns... it really helps!

Right click the start bar and click properties. Then click the "start menu" tab, and click customize. If your using the classic view, just scroll down the check boxes until you find it, then check the box. If your using the default xp start menu, then click customize and then advanced. Scrol down til you find the right box, and click it.

Is this available in XP?Could not find it.If you have time step by step would be helpful.Thanks.
sorry for the assumption

right click on any empty space on the start menu bar

properties>start menu>customize>advanced

scroll down.. it should be under "network connections"

I had exactly the same problem.
what I did was I looked for the file/folder under Start>Programs that had the biggest title and deleated it this shrunk all columns so now I have 4.
