Toolbar icon removal.. Help!

I had a minor spyware attack a few days ago. Looked around for some new programs but went back to WebRoot with virus protection.

Somehow, during all this browsing, I managed to get the "Spylocked" icon added to the toolbar? in the lower right hand of my screen.

It is very irritating since a frequent "Systems Alert" pops up and advises me to load this program.

I've tried everything I know (which is precious little) to get rid of it.

Help!

Sounds like you first need a Welcome to the Computer Forum! http://www.computerforum.com/70672-official-welcome-thread.html and the usual reminder given to new members to review the http://www.computerforum.com/52038-forum-rules.html

One automatic tool for removing the Spylocked problem there besides using the add/remove programs method is ready for download at the link here. http://www.spywareremove.com/download/spyhunterS.exe

The main instructions for using that and other information about manually removing the various registry values is seen at http://www.spywareremove.com/removeSpyLocked.html

This is one tool found for this. Posting a HiJack This log here would also help in identifying the regiistry entries found by that tool. Apparently you downloaded something that gave the appearance of Webroot's Spy Sweeper and ended up installing something else namely a new type of malware. Additional information is seen at http://411-spyware.com/remove/rogue-anti-spyware/
