Top gaming card right now?

Well, right now I have an Radeon 9600, it gets the job done, but is unfortunatly lacking in power as some of you probably know. I'm looking to upgrade soon and have some money to spend, so what would you suggest as the best card out right now for PC.

The Radeon 9600 is last, last generation. I'm glad your in the market for a new one. Are you running AGP or PCI-E? I would assume AGP?

The 9600 is an AGP card, so the best AGP card would probably be the 7800GS.

If you have the money to upgrade your mobo to pci-e, I think that the best cards around are probably x1900xtx/7900gtx/nx7950gx2

the 7800gs is not a shabby card. but i personally like my 6800gt, also the 6800 ultra isn't bad either, its a beast of a card. if budget isn't an issue the 7800gs is your best bet.

its kinda hard to find a 6800gt or 6800ultra as they're being replaced by the 7 series.
