I've just been paid out on insurance and have £700.00 quid to replace my laptop that my son decided to give a milk bath:eek:

But it has to be from the pc world/currys digital group as they are sending me a voucher to use:rolleyes:

I realise the sony is more powerfull(slightly) BUT i think that sony's reputation for quality has suffered in the last few years so i'm leaning towards the compaq, but i've only ever owned toshiba. any help/advice would be appreciated:)
 
theres not really a lot between them, the sony is obviously faster on the processor wheras the compaq has a 120GB HDD over the sonys 80gb and a dual layer rw over a straight DVD rw in the sony.

As they are both exactly the same price i would probably look towards the sony myself, purely because its the nicer looking. :)
 
heh, yeah it is, really should take more notice of the cpu names as opposed to the rest of the specs....

the compaw has the advantage then, better processor, more HDD space and improved DVD-rw.....ignore my previous idea, go for the compaq :)
 
the compaq is definately winning me over at mo but i like the graphics of the sony, but i just don't think sony have a good name anymore. i think the compaq is the answer
 
Those are pretty equal, but the Core Duo 1.73 would be better overall.

Since you are going to play games, what video card are you getting?
