Torrent

I want to make a torrent for 2 reasons:

1. I want to send a file to a friend
2. I want to learn how it works

i have some files. i use flashget as my torrent client
i say make torrent
i browse and find the file(s)
it then asks for trackers ????? help plz
how do i start uploading?
