Toshiba 1555CDS password

Well, I have a Toshiba Satellite 1555CDS that the display went bad and then I started getting an I/O error on boot. I purchased another one as a platform, removed RAM, hard drive and battery to install in newly acquired laptop. After applying power and getting the Toshiba splash screen, it prompts for a password. I did'nt have a boot password set on the old one and know nothing about a default password.
Anyone have a clue what the default password is or how I can get around this prompt to see if this laptop will boot?
Thanks all!!!!!

Here's what I found on the net:
You will have to take the laptop to a Toshiba certified repair facility.
Need two things to fix this.
There is a special adapter which plugs in the parallel port.
There is a file that (only Toshiba certified Techs have access to this) needs to be downloaded to a floppy and after booting to it the password is cleared.
Your problem can be fixed with either one of both of above mentioned points.
There's also a hack for this (don't know if it works, but worth trying it): try a loopback connected to the parallel port during the boot by connecting pins 1-5-10, 2-11, 3-17, 4-12, 6-16, 7-13, 8-14, 9-15, 18-25.

Thanks Lorand. I'll look for the closest Toshiba service center and will build the dungle and give it a try. Will post my results.

Not if you're careful..... :D
I have over 1000 trades and only had one or two bad experiences. Check the feedback ratings and numbers. If they have over 1000 feedback and little or no negatives, they're pretty safe.
Now that I say that, I'll get crap deals.... :P
