Toshiba Dynabook SS 2000 DS75/2

Sir, i need help with toshiba dynabook SS 2000 DS75/2. The specs is pentium 3, 256MB RAM and 20GB HDD. It doesn't have any optical drive. My problem is this, the OS was been corrupted. I want to install a fresh windows XP home edition but how can i do that one. it doesn't have any optical drive and it can not detect the external optical drive i have. It has a 2 USB port and i already check the BIOS setting but still i can not see the USB external optical drive in its BIOS setup. I already look for a PCMCIA optical drive in our area but they don't have one. so what i am thinking now it to flash the BIOS of this toshiba dynabook so that it will have an updated BIOS. Where can i download that BIOS flashing?
 
Being as old as it is, I'm wondering if it even supports booting from USB devices. Do you have any other USB devices you could try in it? I've seen certain external USB optical drives that would not boot for some reason (wouldn't show in the bios but worked fine in Windows.

As for the BIOS, I doubt it'd help much, but if anything is available, it would be from Toshiba's website.
 
I already tried this external optical USB in other PC and it works fine. I already search in Toshiba web site but i failed.
