Im going on a fishing trip in Northern Canada Friday morning. I do not have a charger for the car. its a Satellite M65 series. Looking at the specs i would say this is not possible. The battery is 18v lithium ion. Toshiba says i need to buy a spare battery. the reason mostly for the car is burning cd's or dvd's. This will wear the battery quickly. Any options please.
thanks

There are aftermarket car chargers. Really, about anything would technically work fine as long as it outputs the correct voltage (whatever the laptop requires, typically a bit higher than the battery) and the same or more amps. However, the use of such chargers can be a bit questionable, perhaps even void the warranty... Probably not, but it's always best to use the stuff made by the manufacturer...at least while the warranty is good :P

There are also power inverters you could look into. They aren't exactly the most efficient devices, but they would allow you to use your current charger in your car. You'd probably need to find one that's about 120 watts or higher to be safe.
