toshiba laptop freezing

laptop freezing when i turn it on gets to windows opening sound and then freezes, if i remove the battery and restart it normally restarts ok.

When you remove the battery, do you leave it out when you restart?

I would say your laptop battery is dying and not getting enough power through how old?

the laptop is only 2 months old and i have put the battery back in?

I'm simply trying to figure out if the problem is still happening when you have the battery removed. Most any laptop today can run without a battery just fine.

And if you're laptop's only 2 months old, I'd see about exchanging it, or at least be sure the exchange date doesn't sneak past you while it's being diagnosed

My grampa's Toshiba lappy has a similar problem, though it's like 4 years old... it would constantly freeze, some programs would run dead slow, and sometimes stuff just crashed. I reinstalled, but that didn't do anything... however, when I removed the battery, it started working just fine. Pop it back in - slowdowns, freezes, crashes, etc.

I have no idea how to fix it, though, except for simply running the computer w/o the battery.
