Toshiba Laptop HDD

Hello, I have a laptop and when performing the restore cd's it takes 24 hrs to format. its not cool at all. i am thinking of changing the hdd. another thing, i used a normal windows xp cd to reformat and it says something like ERROR Check hdd for errors. so basicly its the HDD...

what do u guys think?

Yes, it could be the HD, 24 hrs to restore is insanely long. Do you have another HD that you can try to restore on?
