Toshiba Laptop Overheating

I have a Toshiba Satellite computer. I am unsure of the model but I know it was about 1000 US dollars. I think it is a A205 because on the bottom it states that as the model. It is running from 58 to 63 degrees celcius. Is this to hot? It has a Intel Core 2 Duo at 1.5 ghz. What should I do.

Laptops generally run hotter due to the lack of internal airflow, but that does seem high. Is the fan working? Are the cooling fins covered in dust?

Some laptops just run hot. It's nothing to get too worried about unless it gets high enough to actually make the computer malfunction, and you're still well under that point.

Am I correct in assuming it's AMD based? Regardless, if it's not acting up, don't bother it. Chances are it's just how the laptop is. I know my little ULV Toshiba can get pretty toasty if I stress it much.

Problem with most Toshiba's is you pretty much have to completely tear them apart to properly clean them. I'd suggest trying to limit your programs running in the background and maybe confirm it has plenty of air flow. You could try cleaning it, but again, you really need full access to the fan to get it really well.

I wouldn't really recommend a cooling tray. They don't really work (at least, they never worked for me), they're expensive and a household fan (minus the caked in dust) will do the same thing.

Laptops in general tend to overheat if you use them for a long period of time. But that's why I've stuck to desktop computers with LARGE cases. :)

Also it depends where you place your laptop when you use it some people place it on there lap covering the vents starving it from air hence overheating but those temperatures don't seem un-real for a laptop to be honest..
