toshiba laptop shuts itself "off"

My toshiba Satellite A205-S5855 kinda shuts itself down. i can shut the lid, and it goes to sleep. i open it back up later, and you can hear it wake up, but the screen wont come on. i can shut the lid and open it back up, and still nothing. i have to shut it down to get it working again. any body know what the problem could be?
 
i can have it so it still runs when it shuts, but i have set so if goes to sleep. but when it goes to sleep, it doesnt always want to wake back up properly.
 
I would go back in and double check your power settings. If it's going to sleep and you're having a hard time getting it to come back up, then there's obviously something wrong.
