OK, I'm planning to buy a laptop, here in a few months, but I've got a Configuration in mind, I want to know what you guys think, I'm basically wanting a mobile Desktop, so battery life isn't important at all.

Heres a link to the Laptop, and under the link I will put my specific customization:

Price seems a little high for my taste (at least configured on Toshiba's site, but the laptop seems pretty nice. But I question a few things...

Do you need 640GB of HD space? And if so, I'd consider getting the drive elsewhere. Unless it requires a special tray or connector that's not included, you could find a drive cheaper (about $65 on Newegg).

Aside from that, specs look good, and I'm a big fan of Toshiba products.

Ha ha wow I was thinking the same thing about the 2 HDD's. Why cant you just use a 320GB HDD installed and keep an external HDD at home? Cut some weight off that laptop and help the battery life.

I would definitely get a bigger battery, maybe a couple of them. If your like most people, you'll need the extra battery power. But I'd bet you can find that cheaper somewhere else. I would buy the MS office software separate too. I got the suite with the additional tax and accounting programs.

If it were me buying it, Id go with the Intel T9600 2.8 GHz and the ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD4650. Why not spend a few extra on the better devices? You might wish you had in a few years.

But thats just me, I spent $3000 on my laptop. Not everyone can do that.

But I wouldnt skip on this, I consider it a must have: LoJack for Laptops

I dont know about anyone else, but Mike159, Ive never even heard of those brands. And none of them are over1.6GHz. Do you really want something so obscure and slow? In addition to that, they only have 2 USB ports while most laptops have 4. They may be cheap, but imagine trying to repair them, or upgrade them. Seems like a headache waiting to happen.

Why not find a better one thats used for about the same amount? There are loads of used laptops for sale online that are under $500.

Just my opinion.
