I was wondering on what laptop i should buy im not too computer savvy, but i know a bit to get around. I was looking at either a Toshiba or Dell notebook. I would appreciate it if I can get some advice on what i should do...if i should even look at those notebooks..give me some suggestions on other notebooks i can buy...here are the websites

they are both respectable and good brands but i would have to say that if you are looking for quality, then the toshiba is probably slightly better. then again generally they are more expensive. perhaps look on newegg.

what you could do is post what you want to do with this laptop and then give us a price range. then we can try and find the best laptop for that price

RE: Toshiba vs Dell

Ok well my uncle juss wants to use the notebook for business purposes. Meaning it has to be able to handle a lot of graphics and i mean more media than gaming...if you get what i mean....also he has to be able to have a lot of storage space and be able to use the internet without cords or cables...I was wondering on what processor would be good...i juss want to know what company would be best served to use for business such as restaurant business....meaning colorful layouts or the floor plan, menu creations...etc
Sorry for the vague description on how he wants to use the notebook but thanx for the input...take care

I would go with the Dell, due to the faster and better performing CPU. However I would consider upgrading to 512MB of RAM.

I have a Toshiba and I love it. However upgrading video drivers can be a pain in the butt. My laptop has lasted me around three years now and taken lots of abuse, so it's relatively durable. But both are good brands.

i know your new here, and welcome :), could you try not 2 bump up old threads? im not trying 2 be mean or anything, hope you understand ;).
